The Delegate Experience

Understand the delegate experience (Audio Clip)

We look to take the delegates on a journey or learning, We begin by discussing the objectives of the course and an assessment of their knowledge at the beginning of the event. During the training there will be many opportunities to undertake exercises and activities such as discussion, role play, quizzes, games and other “up on your feet” activities.

To ensure the maximum learning benefit to the delegates post activity briefings are used so that delegates understand how the activity has reinforced the theory they have learned. For example, where games are used, these are an ideal way to highlight the natural behaviours people will exhibit when absorbed in an activity. After a team game the post activity brief will look at the team roles the delegates naturally took when completing the challenge and then how that reflects their manner in the workplace, highlighting the need for change, adaptation and improvement.

During the training the delegates will capture information that they need to implement back in the workplace at the end of the session they are encouraged to reflect on their learning to ensure that a shift has actually taken place in their knowledge and attitudes. We refer to this process as their ladder of learning.
